AFSCME Texas Retirees Endorse Colin Allred For U.S. Senate
AFSCME Texas members have proudly endorsed labor champion Colin Allred to represent Texas in the U.S. Senate.
In the U.S. Congress, Allred has a track record of delivering wins for working people, from protecting pensions by advocating for the Butch Lewis Act to helping pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act, which have created well-paying union jobs. And, as a former union member, he understands the importance of union rights.
In response to our endorsement, Allred said, “Whether it is fighting for a fair wage or working to create good jobs by investing in transportation and infrastructure, I am proud to earn AFSCME’s endorsement and work alongside them for Texans.” You can read more about Allred’s vision for Texas.
AFSCME members across Texas believe that Allred’s election is crucial for working people and the communities that rely on their vital services.
From our perspective at AFSCME Texas Retirees, electing Allred will bring peace of mind to seniors and retirees. He is the right person to challenge Ted Cruz.
Here’s what other AFSCME leaders are saying:
Sonia Rico, president of AFSCME HOPE Local 123: “I’m tired of Ted Cruz and all his political games. It’s time for a fresh start with someone who cares about all of Texas.”
Pedro Villalobos, president of AFSCME Local 1624:“Electing Allred to the Senate will strengthen our fight for economic justice and enhance the quality of life for working families across the nation.”
Cynthia Cole, Executive Director of AFSCME Local 1550, says, “Electing Allred is the best choice for working people in Texas. He is a champion for AFSCME working people.”
Together, we can make a difference for Texas’ retired public employees.
